Where Did That Naughty Little Flea Go?

Though it still lays quite dormant, Little Flea is stirring, dreaming up new adventures for the upcoming flea market season. Soon enough the warmer weather will wake us all, so it's time for us to gear up for some flea fun on Butler St. We've already begun work behind the scenes. Teaser: there will be a few significant improvements that will make this season's Little Flea better than the last. Look for details in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, go on and listen to Miriam Makeba sing our adopted anthem and dream of springtime, but not for too long -- you should also start some serious prepping, especially if you're planning to become a vendor. We'll start recruitment pretty soon and will be looking for dedicated and creative entrepreneurs to join last year's "pioneers". Want to get a head-start? Despite having an awesome first-run last year, Little Flea wants to be better. This time around, we'll have many more months at our disposal, enough to transition from being the "best pop-up flea market" in Pittsburgh to becoming a mainstay in the community, as a catalyst for local entrepreneurs and a great spot for Lawrencevilleans to hang out. One More Time: Last Little Flea of the Season?

Back after a three-week hiatus (due to bad weather), Little Flea is setting up Saturday for what could well be the last time before going into hibernation. New and old vendors will be on hand with their incredible treasures. (Alas, Victoria Hruska can't make it!) There may even be some music to dance to! (Btw, interested buskers should get in touch with us immediately.) So, let's come together and have us some flea fun as we "lively up" the neighborhood. Pets welcome.

This fundraising effort is a collaboration between Jude Vachon and Mary Tremonte, with all proceeds directed to the CLP. Blame it on the Rain: Little Flea Canceled for Saturday, October 24th

Little Flea has been forced to stay home for the second week in a row because of inclement weather. Yes, I know, not again.

The end of Little Flea season 2009 is soon approaching and we'd really like to have at least one last chance for folks to have some flea fun before we say goodbye. Next Saturday is Halloween, a great opportunity to celebrate the ironic quaintness and downright freakiness of the flea market, so we're asking everyone out there to keep their fingers crossed for good weather.

It's been said before: It's hard to imagine a flea market without the ubiquitous dog either following or leading its owner from stall to stall. Yes, Little Flea is pet friendly - even our vendors bring their friends along to spend the day. Here's a look at some of our friends lately at Little Flea.

Little Flea Finds: Expect the Unexpected

A bit of sun and mild temperatures are expected this Saturday: perfect fall weather for the first Little Flea of the month. We thought of sharing some of the great finds we've come across at the market. Some you'd expect to find at a flea market - others not so much - but all are veritable treasures.
Design books, French art history books... and a paperback titled " That woman must be on drugs"?
Whimsical salt and pepper shakers, a miniature clock radio, a VHS rewinder... and toy horses?
That awesome guitar was gone in minutes, along with the Asian wall hanging.
Antiques and collectibles come in all shapes, forms and tastes. There's more where that came from. See you Saturday!

Blame it on the Rain: Little Flea Cancelled for Saturday, September 26th

This is not a how this Saturday is supposed to look like. Unfortunately the weather isn't collaborating with us this week: reports call for sustained rain most of the day, so we have no choice but to cancel this week's Little Flea.

It's not such bad news. We all need a break after what the G-20 summit has put the city through. Our recommendation: get out there and re-populate the streets. Come to Lawrenceville and help us get those terrifying images out of our collective consciousness, then head over to Bloomfield and live it up Italian-style at Little Italy Days (I gotta get myself some eggplant parm!).
